Camp Overview

Nanzhila Plains - The home of the Predators

Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp is located in the secluded southern region of the Kafue National Park, nestled on the fringes of a vast Dambo (seasonal floodplain) surrounded by Jackelberry and Sausage trees. By connecting Livingstone to the Southern Kafue through Nanzhila Safaris’ Plains Camp, safari enthusiasts can seamlessly blend their visit to the Victoria Falls with an unforgettable safari experience, creating a harmonious travel experience unlike any other safari destination in Zambia.

"The only camp in the quietest southern part of Kafue. Best night drive sightings of any other Kafue lodges- owls, chameleons, serval, genet, civet, etc.  We also saw elephant, wilddogs, lion, roan, zebras, wildebeest, kudu. Nothing was ever too much trouble!" - John Young

True Story

The revival of the Southern Kafue!

When Steve and Cindy Smith, the owners of Nanzhila, first drove around the Southern Kafue, the only animal they saw in 3 days was a tortoise! Currently, the 24 hour mammal species count record is 27 different mammal species in 2 game drives (morning and evening). That list didn’t include the small, furry and non-descript species like mice, moles and bats!

Peace, Tranquility and Un-obstructed views

The 5 chalets can each accommodate two guests and are situated along the tree line, giving guests an unobstructed view of the dambo. The chalet’s ensuite facilities include a hot and cold shower, toilet and double basins.
